Storm Media Server Installer

Storm Media Server from StormStreaming.com is a rather new product to the streaming market. We tried evaluating it as a product but had quite a few hiccups along the way. The most apparent issue was deployment outside docker. Where there is a rather good documentation page on the topic of installation, there are still quirks that need to be ironed out.

Storm Media Server still has a long way to go, before it can challenge the likes of Wowza Streaming engine or ant Media Server but it does look like the developers are serious about positioning it as a viable product as time goes by. We will be including a detailed review in another post of ours.

During our evaluation, we created a little installer script to help do some of the basic setup steps for us so that we can try starting & stopping the program easily. The installer is a simple bash script for Linux operating system. It is readily available on GitHub as a public repository. Feel free to try it out or even fork it to add your own mutation to it.
